Spring Reset: How to Realign Your Goals and Build Momentum
Share
The first quarter is over. Now What?
I don’t know about you, but January never feels like my true “start.” I’m still recovering from the holidays, easing into the rhythm of a new year, and slowly building momentum. My process is more like:
-
End of January: I’ve finally recovered from the holiday madness and I’m ready to think about the new year.
-
Early February: I know what to get done and I’m starting to work my plan.
-
March: I am getting things done and checking things off the list. I’m killing it!
-
April: I re-evaluate. What feels good? What worked? Where did I struggle? What popped up that wasn’t part of my plan? What’s changed - for better or worse?
Every year, I notice a pattern. I ease in, gain traction, and then pause to reassess. This is where I am. And this is where many people are.
Second quarter is here and we realize we’ve got a little less time to hit those big end-of-year goals—but we also still have plenty of time to make real progress. It’s all about clarity, commitment, and cutting out the noise.
That’s why a spring reset for entrepreneurs is so powerful. It gives you a moment to stop spinning, get intentional, and map out your next best steps. Personally, I love a good spring cleaning!
Spring Reset Checklist:
-
Clean your workspace. Removing physical clutter helps remove the clutter in your mind.
-
Close those tabs. I keep approximately 30-40 tabs open at any given time. It’s ridiculous. I decided instead to create a Weekly Focus Sheet. Writing it down clears my screen and my brain. So now I have 10-15 tabs open. (baby steps!) And no surprise—writing it down helps me stay focused way more than clicking between windows all day.
-
Reassess your calendar. Look at your calendar and commitments for the next 90 days. What feels aligned? What needs to be canceled, delegated, or postponed?
-
Declutter your inbox. Clear your inbox of newsletters and promos that don’t light you up. Keep what serves your growth, let go of what drains your attention.
-
Consolidate your ideas. Consolidate sticky notes, phone memos, Google Docs, and voice notes into one place. You’ll feel like a CEO again. (I try to do this weekly!)
-
Celebrate your wins. Momentum builds when you acknowledge your progress.
-
Review and adjust your goals. A reset doesn’t require a restart -just a realignment.
This kind of mid-year business reset doesn't require a full reinvention-it just requires a shift back into alignment.
You don’t need a new year to start fresh. You just need a clear plan. Spring is the perfect time to recommit with intention. Start with your goal, break it into steps, and then identify the micro-tasks that support those steps. That’s how slow growth strategy creates real, sustainable momentum. Map them out, then get them done.
Refocus with Gratitude
I would be remiss if I didn’t stress the importance of a gratitude practice. Gratitude brings abundance. This week I encourage you to spend five minutes journaling about three things you’re grateful for so far this year.
For each thing, use these prompts:
-
What makes you grateful for this particular thing?
-
How has this impacted your life?
-
How does it make you feel?
Gratitude helps you rewire your brain to look for progress, not just pressure.
Need help getting focused again?
If your goals feel a little foggy, or you’re just not sure what’s next—I can help you map it out in a way that works with your life and your energy.
Whether you're navigating a busy season as a solopreneur or just need space to pause and reflect, this is your sign to reset.
