Stop Creating Your Own Glass Ceiling: How Staying Open Builds Legacy

The moment you decide what you won’t do for your business, you create your own glass ceiling.

Are you staying open to the opportunities waiting for you?

Lately, I’ve been embracing living in flow—and today, I encourage you to do the same.

Now, this might sound counterintuitive coming from someone whose entire business is rooted in goal setting for entrepreneurs and creating action plans. But the truth is, having a plan that aligns with your long-term vision works with flow, not against it.

So how does that work?

By staying open.
By not closing yourself off to unexpected paths.
By making mindset shifts that break through imposter syndrome.
By refusing to say, “I’m not that kind of person,” or “That could never be me.”

Because that moment—when you draw a line in the sand and say what you won’t do? That’s when you create your own limits. That’s when you build your own glass ceiling.

What does this look like in real life?

It’s different for everyone. But it might mean:

  • Going to the networking event you’ve been eyeing

  • Accepting that offer to speak

  • Applying for that grant you don’t think you qualify for

  • Saying yes to the thing that scares you

I talk to so many women who feel stuck in business not because they lack skill or ambition—but because they’ve unintentionally closed the door on their own potential.

But here’s the truth: as long as your values and clarity in business are solid, you’re free to remain open.

This isn’t just about checking boxes or chasing metrics. It’s about building something that lasts.

Because when you stay open to possibility, you’re not just working toward long term goals in business—you’re building a legacy.

There is no one path to success. And believing we know exactly how it should unfold? That’s not trust. That’s fear disguised as control.

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it.” —The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho

The truth is, our job isn’t to control the outcome. It’s to take aligned, intentional action.

  • Know where you want to go.

  • Envision the destination.

  •  Then start doing the work.

As @lawofambition said: “Sometimes who you become while chasing your goal… is better than actually hitting your goal.”

Legacy isn’t built by staying comfortable. It’s built by saying yes—even when it scares you.

Don’t miss the opportunity.
